River House was originally the home of Maxine Bigman and her husband. The home was located on the Rio San Francisco, in Panajachel, Guatemala. Because of inadequate river protection, during Hurricane Stan, the river breached it banks and created an island around the subdivision where the property was located. River work was done in 2009 to solidify the river bank and deepen the river channel. The river is once again bound by its original channel, where it has calmly stayed for many years. The following are photos of the property that were taken when we took possession in February of 2009.
